Kim Chiu Dazzles as the New Face of Tradition at Oro China’s ‘Love and Traditions’

May 8, 2025 — Cebu City.

It was a celebration of love, heritage, and modern Filipino-Chinese culture as Oro China Jewelry proudly introduced Kim Chiu as its newest brand ambassador during the much-anticipated Love and Traditions event held at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.

A true Cebuana and one of the country’s most beloved actresses, Kim embodies the heart of the brand—graceful, resilient, and deeply rooted in her heritage. Known as the “Chinita Princess” and celebrated for her vibrant personality and powerful connection to her roots, Kim’s presence added star power to an evening already rich with meaning and artistry.

The highlight of the event was the launch of Oro China Jewelry’s Tinghun Collection—a curated line of jewelry pieces specially crafted for the traditional Chinese engagement ceremony known as tinghun. Deeply symbolic and rich in cultural tradition, the tinghun celebrates the formal union of two families and is a moment where love and legacy come together.

Oro China’s new collection featured classic symbols of prosperity, unity, and good fortune, making each piece a meaningful keepsake for modern brides.

This launch was paired with a stunning fashion show that featured tinghun-ready looks from some of Cebu’s most sought-after designers: Marichu Tan, Mike Yapching, Roni Yu, and Wendell Quisido, whose collections blended classic silhouettes with contemporary elegance. Each designer brought fresh interpretations of tinghun attire, celebrating the beauty of tradition with a modern twist.

Adding to the visual feast was a two-day exhibit showcasing the artistry of Philip Rodriguez, Rei Escario, Philipp Tampus, Rey Humberto Villegas, Protacio, Pinky Magalona, Hanz Coquilla, and Valerie Alvez—each presenting original tinghun-inspired pieces that captured the spirit of love, tradition, and timeless craftsmanship.

Held at the iconic Atlantic Hall of Waterfront Hotel and Casino Lahug, the event brought together Cebu’s fashion community, jewelry lovers, tastemakers, and families preparing for their own tinghun celebrations.

Love and Traditions not only showcased Oro China Jewelry’s enduring commitment to culture and design, it also marked a meaningful step forward in celebrating modern love through heritage, with Kim Chiu leading the way as a radiant symbol of pride, family, and new beginnings.
