Let’s be honest: if calories didn’t count and our wallets had no limits, we’d probably already be camped out at SM City Cebu’s newest food block—fork in one hand, napkin in the other.
Manila’s favorite foodie empire is serving up not one, not two, but five of its hit restaurants in one sleek lineup called The Moment Block. Now officially open at SM City Cebu, the buzz-worthy collection includes Manam, Ooma, 8Cuts, Mo’ Cookies, and the legendary Din Tai Fung. Fresh off their grand openings in late June, these cult-favorite spots are already making waves and giving Cebu’s dining scene a serious upgrade.
If you’ve only got room for one dish at each (for now), here’s the lineup we’re already fantasizing about, one dish at a time:
From Manam: The House Crispy Sisig
We’ve heard the stories. We’ve seen the drool-worthy photos. Now we’re ready for the crunchy-creamy-sizzling magic ourselves. If there’s one thing Cebuanos don’t mess around with, it’s pork—and Manam’s House Crispy Sisig feels like the homecoming we didn’t know we were waiting for. It’s sizzling, it’s savory, it’s been turning heads in Manila, and we’re ready to make it a staple on our barkada tables. Will we cry a little if it lives up to the hype? Possibly.
From Ooma: Truffled Steak Aburi Maki
We love a good sushi moment—but this? This is a moment. Sushi purists, look away. We’re talking flame-seared steak, dramatic truffle flair, and that creamy Ooma signature twist. Ooma’s Truffled Steak Aburi Maki is basically a mic drop in maki form. If this is wrong, we don’t want to be right. First bite, first love?
From Din Tai Fung: Chocolate Lava Xiaolongbao
A lava-filled dessert dumpling is the kind of curveball we’ll gladly catch with both hands (and mouths). This Taiwanese twist on dessert breaks all the rules—and we’re totally here for it. We’d love to say we’ll savor it slowly, but realistically, it’ll be gone in one enthusiastic slurp.
From 8Cuts Burgers: Four Cheese 2.0
We’re longtime fans of cheese, but this burger might just make us believers in cheese elevation. If “2.0” means quadruple the ooze, we’re fully onboard. One bite and we’ll probably stop talking—except to say, “you need to try this.” We’re thinking this might be the kind of burger you’d regret sharing (so… maybe don’t).
From Mo’ Cookies: Mo’ Milk Softie
Softie + cookie = life decisions we fully support. Mo’ Cookies is known for cookies the size of your face—but now they’ve gone soft(er). The Mo’ Milk Softie is soft-serve the Mo’ Cookies way—creamy, dreamy, and just begging to be swirled with one of their gooey, still-warm cookie slabs. We haven’t tried it yet, but mentally? We’ve already posted it, devoured it, and considered coming back for seconds. And thirds.
This dream tasting menu is just the tip of the food coma iceberg. With all five brands now at SM City Cebu, it’s never been easier to jump from truffled sushi to dumpling dessert without switching buildings.
One block. Five brands. Endless delicious possibilities. If you needed a sign to eat your way through Cebu’s newest culinary playground, this is it. Just bring stretchy pants.
