CCAD Unveils a Grand Celebration of Creativity in Cebu

Cebu is once again at the heart of the country’s creative movement as the Cebu Culture, Art, and Design Foundation (CCAD) brings back its trio of flagship events — the Visayas Art Fair, Bodega Design Caravan, and the Blue Mango Awards — reaffirming the city’s reputation as a UNESCO Creative City of Design and a driving force in the Philippine creative economy.

Under the leadership of Chairperson Maria Luisa “Mari” Booth (Mehitabel Furniture Co.), President Christina Borromeo-Gaston (Hacienda Crafts), Vice President Kenneth Cobonpue (KCurated), and Chairwoman Lorenza “Laurie” Boquiren (Castilex Industrial Corp.), CCAD continues to unite artists, designers, makers, and cultural advocates from across the islands. Their shared vision is clear: to connect, create, and cultivate a thriving ecosystem for Philippine art and design.

Now in its fifth year, the Visayas Art Fair returns to Oakridge Business Park on November 13–16, 2025, with the theme “Infinite Perspectives: Unbound Creativity.” Led by Laurie Boquiren, this year’s edition expands collaborations with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and regional collectives from Visayas and Mindanao. Featured artist Gil Francis Maningo headlines the fair, with a dual exhibition “PASINAYA” alongside Danny Rayos del Sol, exploring the sacred and the sublime through gold leaf and Marian-inspired works.

Beyond the galleries, Oakridge’s gardens will transform into an open-air art space with installations by James Doran-Webb, Raymund Fernandez, the Cebu Crochet Group, and Harley-Davidson of Cebu—each one a testament to the Visayan spirit of creativity and collaboration. Over 25 galleries and nearly 250 artists from across the Philippines and Korea will take part, showcasing how art transcends boundaries and connects communities.

Running alongside the fair is the Bodega Design Caravan, a showcase of furniture, fashion, interiors, and lifestyle design that celebrates the fearless, forward-thinking soul of Visayan craftsmanship. This year’s caravan also introduces Culinary Canvas, a multisensory food-meets-art experience led by Chef Ronald Villavelez of Sialo Cebu, and welcomes the Cebu Literary Festival for the first time—blending design, storytelling, and culture under one roof.

Capping off the celebration, the Blue Mango Awards will honor trailblazers in innovation, sustainability, and social impact—individuals and organizations who continue to push Philippine design forward.

Together, these initiatives strengthen CCAD’s mission to champion local creativity and position Cebu as a vibrant hub of art, design, and cultural innovation across the islands and beyond.
