Where to Dine With Your Fur Baby: Pet-Friendly Cafés in Metro Cebu

There’s a particular kind of Cebuano who can’t leave the house without their dog. You know the type: leash in one hand, phone in the other, already scouting which pet-friendly cafés will let Bantay sit under the table while they order their oat milk latte. If that’s you (no judgment, we get it), Cebu’s café scene has quietly gotten very, very good at making room for your favorite plus-one.

Companionship has always been part of what makes a good café good here: coffee, cozy, community, and now, apparently, canines. Here are the pet-friendly cafés around Metro Cebu where your pet is just as welcome as you are.

1. Dahun Cafe: The Old House That Welcomes Everyone

Tucked into a converted old house in Zapatera (with a second branch in Kasambagan), Dahun feels like stepping into somebody’s well-loved home, all white linens, quiet corners, and a gate you might have to let yourself in through. It’s the kind of place built for lingering, whether you’re deep into a laptop grind or just letting your dog sniff around the garden while you wait on your Salisbury steak and a Dahun coffee. Unpaved road, yes. Worth it, also yes.

2. Punched Coffee: Business Park Brunch, Paws Included

Melbourne-inspired and unapologetically aesthetic, Punched Coffee at Cebu Business Park has become the go-to for professionals on break, freelancers with laptops open, and, increasingly, pet owners who don’t want to leave their dog at home. The floor-to-ceiling windows and warm wood interiors make it feel more upscale café than dog park, but don’t be surprised if there’s a leash looped around the chair next to you.

3. Nimo Brew: Coffee, But Make It a Garden

Inside the Cebu Plant Company in Lapu-Lapu City, Nimo Brew is less a café and more an escape, with hundreds of plants, a cabin that looks like it wandered out of a forest, and an open-air setup that practically begs your pet to come along. No entrance fee, plenty of parking, and a pace that makes you forget you’re only twenty minutes from the highway. Bring the leash, not the rush.

4. Nanda Cafe: A Mountain Escape in Consolacion

Perched atop Garing Hills, Nanda Cafe gives you the Busay experience without the Busay traffic, especially handy if you’re coming from up north. The dining area is fully outdoor, shaded by tall trees, with a view that swaps lush green slopes for a sparkle of city lights come nighttime. Order the Korean Soy Honey Chicken Wings or the Pho-chero (yes, a pho-pochero mashup) while your pet stretches out beside you. Fair warning: this is also home turf to a few resident dogs of its own, so don’t be surprised if you get a welcoming committee

5. Te’Amo Cafe: Familiar Comfort, Multiple Zip Codes

What started as a milk tea shop has grown into a full-on comfort food spot, with branches scattered across Metro Cebu: Oakridge Business Park in Banilad, Central Bloc in IT Park, Escario, and a few malls besides. Order the roasted chicken or a rice bowl, let your pet claim the cozy nook beside you, and take your pick of whichever branch is closest to home.

6. Charlie’s Cup: Mountain Views, Named After a Corgi

A bit of a drive up the Transcentral Highway in Busay, but Charlie’s Cup earns its detour. Named after the owner’s beloved corgi, this treehouse-style café comes with panoramic mountain views, a cool breeze that Cebu rarely gives you for free, and a design clearly made with pets in mind, right down to the corgi-painted stairs. Go early on a weekday if you want the view (and the good light) to yourselves.

There’s something quietly telling about how many of these spots exist now. Cebuanos have always made room for companionship, whether that’s family gathered over merienda or a stray someone’s been feeding for years without calling it “adopting.” It only makes sense that the cafés catching up would open their doors wider too.

So next time you’re deciding where to get your coffee fix, don’t leave your fur baby waiting at home. Grab the leash, pick a spot from this list, and let them come along for the ride.

Always double-check pet policies and leash requirements before heading out. Café rules can shift, and it’s best to call ahead if you’re traveling with a larger pet.
