The Smell of Books Makes You Happy

Old and musty versus new and crispy? It doesn’t really matter, it’s a book and you just want to inhale every single bit of it saying, “Yeah, that’s the stuff.” It might be weird to some but it’s your favorite scent. Clearly it’s a shared habit, they make candles out of this aroma. This, over reading from your gadget? The experience wouldn’t feel complete. 

Time Means Nothing to You

There’s nothing like discovering a new book to read under the covers, or a favorite of yours to fall in love with all over again. Time passes and you don’t mind—everything else is white noise. In fact, you saying “One last chapter,” is a lie and you know it, because that’s code for “I’m going to stay up all night reading this, and I don’t care how long it’ll take me.” 

You Would Live in a Library, If You Could

Be honest: you skipped a class or two just to hang out at your school library right? Or you hid your novel or comic book with one of your school books just so you don’t get caught? Hey it’s okay, safe space. Even to this day, the library feels like a second home.

Some hang at the department stores, your go-to is the bookstore. If your phone dies and your family or friends need to know your whereabouts, they won’t have to look further. 

You Find Movie Adaptations Thrilling

As happy as you are that your favorite titles are getting a movie adaption, this is going to be tricky given your protectiveness over the story and title themselves. Will they change the ending? Will they cut out some (or a lot) of parts? What’s the casting going to be like? So many questions. You’re not against them. It’s just you can’t help but look back at the past disappointments, you don’t want to go through that again, because here’s a part of you that always thinks “It could be better.”

You Relate to Belle on So Many Levels

Remember the scene when Belle was gifted with the castle’s library? If you were given that same gift, your jaw would drop, and take it in a heartbeat. Your family doesn’t even have to wonder what they’ll get you for your birthday or for Christmas. They know what you want. It’s a no-brainer. That, and some bookmarks because creased pages are a big no no for you.
