In Octobers We Wear Pink

Every October, we pay homage to breast cancer awareness. Last October 2, 2023, Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu hosted an alluring Pink High Tea event at its peerless Villa 3, an expansive 4-bedroom unit, to acknowledge Pink October. Honoring the event was an assemblage of esteemed members from the ICanServe Foundation, delegates from the Cebu City Government, notable media representatives, and several women-focused groups.

You’ve probably already guessed it from the beginning, but allow me to elaborate. The Pink High Tea event is intended to heighten breast cancer awareness while nurturing a sense of unity among those deeply committed to the mission. With this, the hotel opens its doors and sets forth its dedication to the cause.

Although we’re way past all the Barbie frenzy, we’ll never get tired of seeing pink. Paired with the Villa’s subdued ambiance was an adornment of pink floral arrangements and a tempting selection of pink confections.

When it comes to cuisine, Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu always delivers. Among the assortment was their Blushing Bliss Chicken Burger (with pink buns!), Pretty-in-Pink Cheesecake, Pretty-in-Pink Raspberry Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Fields Dream Sponge (a light and airy sponge cake infused with strawberry flavors and cream cheese, this was a personal favorite), Pink Dough Delights, Pink Velvet Crinkles, and Pink Paradise Mendiants. For beverages, the Lady Dragon and Rose Latte proved to be equally refreshing.

Now that’s a lot of pink, for sure. But, of course, what’s a Pink October event without people wearing pink? On a picturesque occasion, attendees arrived in their best pink ensembles. Making a pink statement has never looked so good.

Don’t worry, you didn’t miss out. You can find a medley of specially curated pink pastries and drinks at the Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu Lobby Lounge all throughout October. Even more impressive, 10% of the revenue from these pink offerings is promised to the ICanServe Foundation. This is only one of the many ways we can support the foundation and the cause.

On top of that, NUSTAR’s visitors can also catch the Pagtambayayong Art Exhibit, which will run its course until the end of October at Level 2 of The Mall. The exhibition includes artwork from over 60 Cebuano artists, with hopes to raise additional funds for ICanServe Cebu.

With this year’s Pink High Tea shindig, Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu establishes its commitment and participation in endeavors that enrich the community’s welfare, promoting health and well-being among fellow Filipinos. The Pink Initiative stands as just “one of many steps taken by the hotel to foster positive change and make a difference in the community”.

Fili Hotel is located within the NUSTAR Resort on Kawit Island of South Road Properties, Cebu City, a 30-minute drive from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) via the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) and a 25-minute ferry ride from the Mactan Marina Wharf.

About Bianca Lim

Bianca only cares about two things: having a good laugh and keeping a clean home. Often introduces herself as just "Biang", you'll never guess what her full name is. She revels in sarcasm and self-deprecating humor, but also enjoys the good things in life. Always second-guessing herself—thinking she's right, then believes a mistake's been made. Right, wrong, and on and on. An overthinker, if you will.
