Is It A Fit? Or Is She Just An Influencer?

We’ve all the seen those TikToks — you know the ones, “Is it a fit or is she just skinny?”  Though this article definitely relates to that, I wanted take inspiration from Laini Ozark as well. Ozark is a fashion YouTuber who directed the spotlight more on their fashion choices than their bodies. With social media being overly saturated with influencers and now a continuously booming business, it’s easy to get sucked in thinking that each content creator is just perfect.

However, in today’s fun rating and deconstructing of celebrities’ outfits, we’ll be observing if this outfit is timeless, or if she’s just an influencer.

Bella Hadid

Not your typical airport look, but definitely not one of my favorite looks on Ms. Bella Hadid. I know the 2000s/Y2K style is back in season, but it tends to look tacky in my opinion and can be a hit or miss outfit. There’s just too much going on in this model’s outfit and I can’t picture myself old and grey wearing this type of fit. My judgment on this airport look is a rating of 1— sorry Bella, but it’s a no.

Emma Chamberlain

Aside from being well known for her coffee company Chamberlain Coffee, this YouTuber is also known for her fashion. Most of her audience admires her sense of style— and they’re not alone, considering she was even recognized as one of Louis Vuitton’s ambassadors. She wore this fit during her Vogue Youtube Video Feature: “24 Hours with Emma Chamberlain in Copenhagen.” I am all here for this modern vintage vibe that she’s going for. I give this fit a rating a solid 5 out of 5.

Kylie Jenner

The King Kylie Era is back and we all can agree that Kylie Jenner likes to bring something new to the table. I can see what she’s going for with this look and it can be improved. I’m just not into her knees being exposed like that maybe if her leg warmers were a bit longer above knee’s length or this outfit was turned into a maxi dress instead then it wouldn’t make her body look disproportioned. I give this fit a 3 because I can see its potential with a few tweaks.

Matilda Djerf

This fashion influencer has over 2 million followers on Instagram and has created her own brand: Djerf Avenue. Matilda has a way of combining fashion pieces to look clean and new, yet still very relatable to people. An all white outfit is a classic, and I love how she incorporated a pop of some 2000s kitten heels and a baguette bag. I really adore this angelic outfit, but I wish it had a bit more character to it. It’s a 4 out of 5, because it while it does look put-together, it lacks some spice.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber requires no introduction since she’s one of the most influential It Girls on the internet right now. She was spotted wearing this 90’s outfit. We’ve been seeing a common trend lately with bottoms becoming baggier and baggier, which honestly is a plus for comfort. Hailey likes playing around with her masculine and feminine side when coming up with an outfit, which is a good balance for me. I give this concert look a 4.5. Effortlessly cool, but it looks but it needs a statement piece for me.

There’s plenty of other fits from influencers we’ve seen that made us quirk an eyebrow. What do you guys think? Would you agree to these ratings or disagree? Fashion is subjective after all, and these influencers obviously saw something in these looks that made them want to share it on their feeds.
