Dishing Out on My Top 5 Picks from Tavolata

Because of Tavolata, I have had a taste of my future home and I just didn’t know it yet. Coming back to Cebu from Florence, I knew I just had to make time for my favorite trattoria. Tavolata’s menu selections are the go-to for those who crave authentic Italian cuisine. Their homemade pasta and hand-tossed pizzas are the heart of their offerings, along with a few more equally mouthwatering dishes that you can’t go wrong with.

It was a bit of a challenge choosing just five picks from their menu, but ultimately, I went with the ones that I always come back to. Check it out!

Diavola

This particular pizza combines two things I love: pizza and spicy food. With Calabrian sausage, chili, and pepperoncini, it’s a hot and delicious classic that satisfies my cravings every single time. From the Philippines to Florence, the diavola pizza has always been my go-to. It uplifts my mood every time!

Crispy Chicken

I just love fried chicken in general, but Tavolata’s crispy chicken is a special one. A plate that’s good for sharing among two to four people, it’s a great appetizer that comes with a lemon aioli that’s just perfection. To cut through the saltiness, squeeze a bit of lemon over the fried chicken, and you’re in heaven!

Amatriciana

The sweet tanginess of the San Marzano tomatoes, the saltiness of the pancetta, and the smokiness of dried chili all make for a really rich sauce, transporting me to the storied streets of Italy. I always have this for dinner whenever I’m at Tavolata because I trick myself into thinking it’s a “light” meal. It is, right?

Wild Mushroom Risotto

The creaminess and consistency of the risotto make it just right for me. The parmesan and truffle oil transform the dish into something truly special that makes every bite an experience. It’s topped with arugula and asparagus, adding texture to the dish. Out of all the risottos I’ve tried in Cebu, this one stands out.

Antipasto Platter

This diverse selection of imported Italian cold cuts and cheese with pickled, grilled, and marinated vegetables is a flavor bomb. I would imagine that a handful of wonderful conversations have happened around this appetizer that’s great for sharing. I personally love it for that element of bringing people together and talking about things they love.

Great plans have always happened around food, and Tavolata makes those plans even more exceptional with their delectable food, delightful ambiance, and impeccable service. If you miss them, take this as a sign to pay a visit. If you haven’t dined there yet, what are you waiting for?

Tavolata is located at the Design Center of Cebu, A.S. Fortuna St., as well as Level 4 of Ayala Center Cebu.
