Keeta Turns One! Reflections on the Year We Started Talking About Us

It’s been an interesting year.

Exactly 365 days have passed since we officially launched the Keeta website. And this is going to sound cliché, but what a journey it’s been.

There have been photoshoots and interviews. We’ve amassed more than a few gigabytes of content, which has required a few storage expansions in the past few months. There were challenges in production due to repeated lockdowns. There was a typhoon that disrupted weeks’ worth of pre-production efforts. We’ve gone through swab tests, cancellations, and last-minute changes I can’t believe we were able to make work.

Through it all, though, we remain driven by the commitment to sharing Cebu’s stories. The stories we tell each other, and the stories we want to hear.

This may look like a pandemic project, but it’s one that’s actually almost two years in the making. Keeta was borne of a deep-seated desire to shine a spotlight on Cebu, the things that happen here, and the people behind it. There is so much to tell about this island, and no matter how much we put out, there’s always something new that we want to talk about.

I hope the conversation never ends.

Thank you to everyone who helped get this conversation started, and to the Keeta team who continuously finds words to say.
