You’d think it’s Photoshopped—let’s not be hasty.
Plunging into Christian Matthew’s world, things got remarkably intense. This October, we’re serving you Halloween looks you can’t find the right adjectives to. Why don’t we start with ‘show-stopping’ or ‘jaw-dropping’? (Mesmerizing?)
But finding a just description isn’t the challenge here. The true challenge lies in replicating Christian’s masterpieces, which might not even have been an impediment at all for him, ‘fraid to say.
Nonetheless, here are three Halloween makeup looks by Christian himself. Who says Halloween’s only about the costumes? If you want to look the part, do it like Christian Matthew.
His first look is a no-brainer. It’s Joker-inspired but with a feminine twist. With simple makeup techniques and some paint on the hair, one can look all kinds of crazy—a sure-fire Halloween look.
Of course, what’s Halloween without a femme fatale? His second look is inspired by DC Comics’ Enchantress, dark makeup is all you need to make an eerie transformation. But it’ll need a touch of Christian Matthew to leave you spellbound. After all, an element of the haunting and macabre is only but a Halloween essential.
One thing Christian enjoys adding to his looks is colored contact lenses. Enhancing your makeup with colored lenses can add an extra dimension of depth and allure to the overall appearance, and is used by many Filipino makeup artists. Also, who doesn’t want to have vibrant (or chilling) blue eyes?
Christian’s just as good at painting his own blank canvas. And, naturally, we weren’t about to have him stay behind the scenes. Adding his look to the mix, he portrays his take on a Halloween favorite—the skull face.
A ghastly Picasso, but still as transfixing. It’s a bone-chilling, “out of your skin” Halloween look that will always be timeless. Because who needs skin when you can rock the bone look? No X-ray vision required here, folks.
What’s interesting about Christian’s work is that he doesn’t stop at the face to finish the look. He occasionally includes subtle elements from the neck to the shoulders for more completion.
Although currently a student, nothing hinders Christian in the pursuit of his dreams. Slowly but undoubtedly, he’s established a name for himself in the local scene since 2021. At the onset of his endeavors, he started by glamming his friends up, building his portfolio over time. With his artful dexterity, it’s only a matter of time until he’s discovered by others.
