Nest Workspaces: New Spaces, New Vibes, Same Outstanding Results

On the afternoon of September 19, 2023, guests and friends came together at Basement 1 of Horizons 101 Cebu condominium complex in Cebu City to celebrate the grand opening of Nest Workspaces’ newest branch. The location is part of what is being billed as an “integrated productivity hub.” This integrated productivity hub includes the new Nest Workspaces branch, a StorageTown facility, and the Subtero Underground gym.

The event started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Cebu City Mayor Michael “Mike” Rama and entrepreneur and social media influencer Chase Cokaliong, the latter being the Founder and President of Nest Workspaces. After a Catholic blessing ceremony, guests and curious visitors roamed the area to check the private spaces and meeting areas while enjoying the sandwiches, skewers, and juices—among other pleasant offerings—provided by the event.

“Nest Workspaces is a very heavily community-driven co-working space that caters to young professionals, to creatives, to entrepreneurs and basically all walks of life, people who want to elevate their work,” says Bea Gomez, the Nest Workspaces community manager.

The Nest Workspaces at Horizons 101 is itself a one-stop shop in its own right, offering different services and amenities for members and visitors. From the meeting rooms where one can facilitate business conversations, to the open breakout area that can foster relationships between innovators, to the infinity wall studio to shoot photos for product campaigns, the branch can be where ideas come to life through collaboration and ingenuity.

“We really, really encourage people to collaborate,” Gomez emphasizes. “We really want people to network. We want people to talk to each other. We want to foster a community here in Nest Workspaces because we really believe that community and collaboration really elevate a person’s work.”

Gomez reveals the new branch’s plans to organize several events and networking opportunities to bring about the community she and Nest value, such as the game nights they will soon be hosting, offering fun activities and inviting new friendships.

To launch such a business requires precision, and it’s a fact Bea Gomez herself knows. On her end, as the community manager, she has been involved in creating a more eco-friendly workspace (such as a transition from using single-use cups to visitors and members being encouraged to bring their own beverage holders) and researching and preparing the business’s booking system. But for Gomez, whose dream has been to be involved in the co-working space industry, it really is a thrill to be part of the work together launching and running something like Nest Workspaces.

What sticks in Gomez’s mind is that the value of collaboration is something that is not only promoted by her company but also practiced. “To be part of a team that is making a co-working space like this, that has the same values I wanted, is like basically giving me the dream come true,” said Gomez.
