It’s World Vegan Day! Join In On The Celebration By Checking Out These Food Spots

The start of a new month offers an opportunity for new challenges and beginnings. For instance, guys take part in what they call No Shave November, where they don’t shave their facial hair for the entire month.

If you’re looking for a new way to challenge yourself, the first day of November is World Vegan Day.

What is being vegan, anyway, and how is it different from being vegetarian? I often confuse the two, too. Vegans and vegetarians both follow a plant-based diet, choosing not to eat meat and fish. However, vegans have a stricter diet as they also choose not to consume anything derived from animals products like dairy, eggs or even honey. It may be hard to imagine, but meat substitutes taste just like meat. Plus, vegan meals leave you feeling more full for longer.

Fun fact: plant-based foods are also very good for your digestive health.

With this in mind, we made list of vegan restaurants and delivery options in the city that are worth checking out.

Eden Green Vegan Foods Delivery

Eden Green is a food delivery service that serves budget-friendly, plant-based meals for as low as 65 pesos; an ideal choice for those who want to try out vegan food without putting a dent in your wallet.

They serve daily meals with no minimum order. Check out its Facebook page or order through the following numbers: 0923-174-9907, 0917-337-6550, and (032) 342-2967.

Diet in a Box

Another food delivery service, Diet in a Box provides weekly vegan meal plans. Patrons can choose from its Supreme (breakfast, lunch, and dinner package), Combo A (breakfast and lunch package) or Combo B (lunch and dinner package) option. Visit its website or order through its mobile number: 0922-478-1282.

Wellnessland Vegetarian Cafe and Health Food Store

This charming restaurant is operated by the Wellnessland Health Institute, a holistic center for self-transformation. Its plant-based menu includes Tofu Adobo, Sautéed Eggplant, and Bibimbap. It is located in 314-C Sikatuna Street, Zapatera, and open daily from 8AM to 8PM. To know more about them, check out its website.

Toniq

TONIQ has made a name for itself through its Detoxify juices, but it also offers a wide selection of plant-based food. It serves all-day breakfast, rice-in-a-bowl, organic salad, pasta, soup, pizza, wraps and sandwiches, as well as snacks, and desserts. Check out its restaurant on the fourth level of Ayala Center Cebu. You can also find it on Foodpanda.

Live Life Vegetarian Food Restaurant

Live Life is a vibrant restaurant located at Axis Entertainment Avenue, Vibo Place, Escario, and serves homemade organic, vegan, raw and gluten-free veggie food. The vegetarian and vegan- friendly menu includes BBQ Tofu in a Lettuce Wrap, Mushroom Quinoa, and Baked Stuffed Bell Pepper.

Recently, people are becoming more conscious of living a healthy and active lifestyle. World Vegan Day helps raise awareness for the benefits of healthy living as well as the ethical considerations of the treatment of animals and our environment. There are many ways to get involved even if you aren’t vegan. One of the ways is trying out some vegan options. Who knows, you might even like it.
